Just wanted some people's opinions specifically on a small drop on the RX and how it affects the characteristics of driving the car. The RX I feel could use with a drop and while I would love to go as low as I could go (read air) I can't. Have country roads to travel and like the plushness of my current drive (although not the lean on corners ). If I were to drop the car by slightly more than inch (roughly 25-30mm) would this make a significant difference? I would only be replacing the spring to bring the height down slightly and not really doing anything else with the suspension (except when it's time to -i.e. replace shocks etc. etc.).

I've considered it several times but the small drop is not worth the increased discomfort to my aging backside. I remember one poor bastage who did it to his wife's car and mama wasn't happy at all. He quit posting here but I'm sure she didn't kill him or anything.

Are you planning on using the stock wheels when you lower? It would look a lot better lowered with slightly fatter wheels too!

I think just changing the springs for lower ones will make it firmer (less travel), and also slightly harsher. I can't exactly remember why...maybe the stock shockies will be pushed down, reducing their rebound ability?

Hey Satz. I was intending on using the stock 18's. While I would lover fatter wheels, the design of the 18's I actually like and given that I just put new tyres on the car recently, the wife would kill me if I even mentioned it .

It might be something that I would need to look into depending on how the suspension is fairing. Currently it's quite comfortable and no real issues. If it ever comes to the point of having to replace the shocks (not exactly sure when this should be done), then I might do it then. That way I can get a proper work up done (i.e. shocks to compensate for the drop and maintain the ride quality).

That's not surprising.
In Japan, someone spent megabucks to research and develop something which works just fine.
Changing anything in the RX asset is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, imho.

I lowered my car with the Eibach kit long ago. It was a bit anticlimactic, because there is just so much wheel gap. The ride quality also got fairly firmer, but not really anything to write home about, IMO.
