Default Noise behind driver side back wheel

I have been noticing a noise from the driver side back wheel. Like a buzzing sound. Is this normal? The reason why I am asking is I received the car like that and I do not know if something is wrong or is just normal operation. The noise can be heard while the car is parked so i do not thing it has anything to do with breaks or such. Just my guess.

Any ideas?

There is a discussion on a similar topic in the GS section. Take a look.

I was going to say air compressor too. Mine runs for about 6-7 seconds after I get out to adjust for my now-missing weight.

There is no hiss sound for air escaping. How can I confirm if it is a compressor?

A question first: Do you hear the sound all the time, or just occasionally (and then it stops)?

The pump is located on the driver's side, behind the rear wheel. There is a plastic cover on it to protect it from road debris.

Does the rear of your GX raise up when you press the up on your ride height control switch?

It has that option, but never tried it.

I would suggest you operate the options available of your vehicle with your owners manual in hand. Knowing how it should work will help you determine if you have a problem.

Here's a test:

Start the Engine, listen for the buzzing sound... Then push the "OFF" button under the height control switch on the center console. If the sound immediately goes away, it's your compressor.

If it is running CONSTANTLY, then there is a leak somewhere, and that will eventually burn the compressor out. It should shut off after about 30 seconds or so once you start the engine, and only come on every so often to replenish the supply of air (at least that is what mine does)

Exactly. If it's running all the time, one of the airbags has a leak, or there's a leak at a hose connection somewhere. You can use some soapy water to find the leak (diluted Mr. Bubble solution works fine ☺ ), just like you would when looking for a leak in a tire.
