Default Trouble finding LED red and clear tail lights HELP

Hey CL. I have a 2001 LS430 and I'm trying to find good replacement tail lights for them because I hate the yellow that they have on them. Ive been doing a little research and I can only find smoked versions of the led replacement tails which I'm not the biggest fan of cause I know the POLICE will give me a hard time about them.

So my question is does anyone know where I can find the led red and clear tails for sale?

Thanks in advance for the help people

I am also interested in these tail lights. I have a set but some of the lens have burnt out and I am looking for a replacement set. I had them for about 6 years and just now encountered a problem with them. Does anyone know if I purchase the smoked ones will I be able to remove the smoke from the lens?

I dont see why you wouldnt be able to do that. just take a heat gun to the lights and swap the lenses.

Hmm I didn't even think of that. So all I have to do is use a heat gun to the outside of the lens and it will come off? Have you tried this before?

BMW guys that want to put angel-eyes in the headlights, either use a heat gun, or just put the assembly in an oven at a very low temp (obviously). It is doable, and many have done it successfully when they want to separate the two parts without destroying the glue.

Yeah, it's very common. The SC300/SC400 guys do it to their headlights to clean the lenses.

I emailed a couple of the guys that sell the smoked led tails and one said it was tinted while the other said the lens is smoked. If it's tinted I might be able to pull the tint off.

You may want to try and polish the lens to remove the yellow oxidation. It's common for plastic to yellow over time in the So Cailf sun. You can use the same polish you use on the car paint, like a 3M or Megauires polishing compound found at most Pep Boys or better auto supply stores; even Walmart carries it. IF you have access to a machine polisher with foam pads the work will go much faster than by hand. Another option would be any detailer will be able to clean them up with a machine polish.

Don't use harsh "rubbing compounds" you want a paint polish.

You will be amazed on much better they will look and you can save $$$ for other stuff.

Good luck.

Cheers,
