Default Lightweight Driveshaft ??

Maybe I missed it but cant seem to find any info. if an aftermarket driveshaft exists for the AA80e and IS-F. Anyone know if theres an aluminum DS being made as a direct replacement??

I've used the driveshaftshop for past projects but looks like they offer nothing for the ISF.
Just curious if anyone has explored a lighter DS for their car..

Haven't heard anything in regards to the is-f but I had the driveshaft shop make a carbon fiber ds for my 06 sti build. would never do carbon fiber again because of vibration at high speeds but if a lightweight ds was available the the is-f it would be an awesome improvement! the acceleration/throttle response improvement was amazing

I'm going to talk to DSS and see what a complete custom setup would cost. I had one on my GTE IS300 and it made a world of difference...luv'd it. Never thought of doing one on my 08 STi but I bet that is FUN!

My 350z came with a carbon fiber driveshaft. It didn't vibrate at high speeds.

Their were a few people that had issues with the driveshaft shop as i found out after the fact. Ended up selling the car and parting most of it out anyways

I had carbon driveshaft on my 800whp MK4 Supra and it was fine. Never any vibration on 4th gear runs on the dyno either.

Anyone know the weight of the ISF DS? I'm not worried about vibration as the dss will balance it to 9000rpm which is about 2 times what most shops are capable of doing.

Nonetheless, some people experience vibrations and that would be a deal breaker for me

Yeah.... Obviously no one has yet to do this with the IS-F is what I'm gathering...

Spoke with DSS a few minutes ago and they can and will make whatever you desire for the F. They simply need a stock driveshaft to R&D and about 6weeks.
I'm strongly considering a CF DS as it will be less diameter as well.

this would be huge if you get it done. I would be next in line to purchase if the performance is there with reliability. good luck and hope this works out.

You should call them.... They'll do 50% off if you temporarily give up your DS for development.

That's actually a good deal. I would send them my driveshaft for 50% off.
