looking at a 2007 es 350 premium plus with nav for 17K cpo. 65k miles. the color is that gold,which im not lovin.
2 previous owners which scares me a bit. 18 service records. car is immaculate inside and out. rides well. dealer wont budge off 17k, is that the best im going to do? what could i have them add in instead of reducing price? also charging $700 doc fee which seems crazy high.....

any thoughts appreciated!!!

You don't like the color....strike one. $700 BS fee........strike two. One more fault and you walk!

People claim stuff all the time doesn't mean its not BS
you tell them and make sure they are aware you like the car itself
But be strong on the fact the color is not really felt by you
go threw all the paperwork and before you sign tell them look you changed your mind
trust me they won't let you walk over 700 dollars


How ever i feel 17k is a good price for an 07 with nav and CPO i paid 17999 for my 07 back in Feb this year
but i got 5k off the asking price

The "Check" light came on in my car and steam was rolling out of it as I came off the freeway. We filled the radiator with water and there seems to be a hole near the top where the hose comes out that goes to the reservoir tank. Also the VSC and VSC OFF lights came on and won't go off. Where is an honest place to take this 1998 Lexus ES300 near Los Alamitos, CA?

the original asking price about a month ago was 21999, they lowered it today from 17999 to 16999, but they dont wanna discount anymore from 16999. decisions,decisions.................

So now you know that this dealer had at least a five thousand markup on this vehicle and more. Probably six to nine! That's an exorbitant markup for any dealer. Couple that with a $700 doc fee and being told Lexus demands it would make me run, not walk away.

Excessive document fees paid are split among the finance team, kind of a "sales commission". Walk away and tell them the reason. They may rescind it or wait for the next customer on the car.

That gold color which you don't like (I believe it was Almond something) was only available for one model year. It did not sell well. I'm sure the dealership is anxious to move it out. There are a lot of these cars oout there. Keep looking until you find the one for you at a decent price.

I think it sounds like a fair price once the repair is completed - - - the doc fee is not . . .cut it in half . . .that's just pure profit on top of whatever they make on the car.

also what they are not telling you can hurt at times
They get a kick back from the finance company from the lender if heard back room stories from finance managers and workers in the past that a Lender could kick back anywhere from 500 to 5000 depending on the purchase price and the intrest rate

i know that one vehcile i purchase i knew the finance manger and he was able to take 1000 off the sale price due to that fact that that is what stantander lender kicks back to them on a 20% rate of a 9000 in intrest loan

I'm not sure what it is, but it seems price for used Lexus vehicles is actually cheaper in Canada! This is such a rarity with cross border shopping.

Anyway, 17K is still too much for a car going on 8 years with that mileage. They were dreaming at 21K. If it is the darker gold colour... Run! Looks like baby puke.

The almond colour is ok, but I think you have to be 55+ to enjoy it.

I would walk and see what they do, if you really want it. Otherwise, these cars are plentiful to pickup elsewhere. Good luck

When I was in car sales the dealership had a $500 "pak". If the customer swallowed and many did with out a fuss I was paid $150 out of it.
If he's saying Lexus charges $700, what they are doing is pushing the CPO certification charge off on you as well as the regular "doc fees". If it's not a CPO vehicle it's total BS.

the color is listed as champagne on website, but i looked up lexus colors for 2007 es350 and they didnt have any champagne color listed. its either the golden almond or amber pearl. i think its the golden almond.

anyways they told me they were selling me the car at wholesale price
