Default Thinking of converting to regular spring/shocks - european sellers

I'm considering of what to do once my air suspension gives up (-93 LS400) and I'm now looking at the regular shock/spring combo. Most vendors I've found are however US based and shipping to my remote corner of the world (Sweden) tends to be very expensive ($700 is not uncommon). Add to this the risk of swedish customs which may add up to 30% on the total cost and you understand my question:

Does anyone know of a European (inside EU) vendor who sells these kids at a reasonable price?

For regular driving, is there any use in looking at coilovers?

I don't know of any quality spring/shock combos from companies like H&R or KW for the LS. Might be different for the EU market but over in the states/NA there isn't anything available.

coilovers are definitely a good option to be looking act and there has to be a distributor for a lot of the popular bands over here, (BC, Megan, FF) over in the EU. it might be a cheaper option to find a distributor in the UK, france or Germany and make a road trip out of it for the same cost as shipping from the US... don't know where your priorities are.

good luck with the search!

Hi,

there are a couple o options for you!

First: You can get coilovers, K-sport is also offering something for the LS

Second: You can get stock springs, and struts from kyb! This setup should be around 100 for stock springs as aftermarket part, and around 300 for the struts.

Third: Get some lowering springs from the us and than order Bilstein B8 struts. I do not know what they will cost.

I do have a set of Springs for a 93 LS400, if you are interested let me know.

If I go the coilover route - I would still need the spring/shock mount, right?

You actually won't need anything. The coilover should just mount in place of the old air strut. I would associate coilovers with more spirited driving, but for a daily driver, they bring a nice balance of sport and comfort as everything is adjustable to your liking (ride height, damping, etc.).

Thanks you Sc0pe!

Since a set of coilovers here costs about the same as a strutmaster kit + shipping + import taxes this might be the way I wanna go. On the other hand, given the condition of my car I wanna keep costs down.
