Default Looking For Replacement Trunk Opener Switch

My trunk opener switch is cracked and I would like to replace it. Does anyone here know where I can source one? I tried eBay without success.

Other than those two options. The dealer will charge me $500 for the switch, and some wrecking yards charge money just to go in there. I am looking for a way to find them online.

Took six months to finally find one on ebay.Had to settle for a black one but it looks good in the grey interior of my 99LS.Don't give up, beige is the color most likely found on ebay.

this has got to be some crazy-*** California thing - I have been to maybe, I don't know, perhaps a BILLION wrecking yards in my life, and if one ever wanted to charge me to go in, I would be laughing my *** off for days, I would probably have to have medical attention to stop laughing!

This happened a while ago, but I went to a Pick-N-Pull in Sacramento and I remember the pain I felt when they charged me $9 to go in. I was looking for a part for my Ford Mustang, which I did not succeed, and I felt robbed as I left, so I vowed never to visit one again--or at least one that charges more to get in than what the part is worth.

at a pick-n-pull, they probably charge because many times something ends up in the customer's pocket at a 5-finger discount

but if they are going to assume I am a shoplifter and charge me in advance for the items I might take, I would still shop there, but I will be sure and not disappoint them in their anticipated thievery

I wonder if I'm looking at the right part.

8484030150A1 LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY IVORYTRIM0

Sewell shows it at only $76.19 with a Clublexus discount - retail price is about $125: http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1995.html

I don't remember paying an entrance fee at Pick n Pull in Kansas City the one time I was there. It was a fun time - hundreds of people there on a nice September day ... like a cross between a block party and a freak show. People were helping each other remove parts and were loaning tools back and forth. The cars were well organized by make and model, the staff was friendly and the parts dirt cheap. I would certainly go back.

yes, that is the correct part for the entire assembly, but I think he is wanting to avoid spending all of that and just buy the little plastic pretty piece of the unlock lever - he is going to be out of luck at the dealership as they only sell that entire assembly, junkyard is the only alternative, and most of the ones there will be broken as well

PS - mine broke on my car
(or it may have been the gas tank door one, I forget)

Are we talking about the same person who is "dropping a couple grand" on a new stereo system for his LS400?

Sounds strange, but yes I am looking for only the plastic switch. I feel that if I buy the assembly for the switch alone, I would be wasting away the rest of the assembly. I may have spent $2800 for the stereo, but at least I am using all of the stereo.

Don't forget that I am also considering dropping $6000 for a color change and some light front-end work, too. My senses got the best of me on that one.
