Hey guys I just purchased my 91 lexus ls400. The previous owner gave me a mangled up key fob with a button missing no battery and the key taped up ( ohh lawd). I replaced the battery in the key fob but it wouldn't unlock or lock the doors. The car battery was also dead when picking up the car. Im wondering if it needs to be reprogrammed or not? Im debating just getting a new key from the dealer but im pretty sure they charge to reprogram the key. Is there a way i could do it? any help would be great.

For a 91 it would mean a new remote and receiver that would cost a few hundred. Better off getting a after market system. Like I did.
