Default Two Years of Ownership Before/After

Inspired by Megafast's latest thread, here are the biggest changes since I purchased the car in 2011.

The "before shots" were taken before purchasing the car.

Deer busted headlight

Mismatched tail lights

Passenger Door

Front brakes were seized

New battery, all new fluids, gaskets, belts, pulleys, hoses, etc.

Engine overhaul (valve covers, spark plugs, PCV)

Dirty Interior

Burned out radio lights

Fixing the CEL. Wrong sensor was installed.

Rented a Rug Doctor from my local Shop Rite. More info can be found here:

Nice looking car. How did you get the dent out of the rear fender. I have the same dent. I tried to bang it out from under behind the bumper but I couldn't get a good angle on it.

Nice work. Did you ever figure out and fix the knocking noise over bumps?

For the rear fender, I removed the carpeting inside the trunk. My dent was right above the tail light, so it was easily accessible. I used a piece of wood and a hammer to pop it out and then sanded/touched up the area with some paint. It looks like crap, but better than before. A professional repair would cost me almost $1000 for the rear quarter.

As for the bumper, I removed the whole bumper cover and pushed the dent out with a heat gun.

I did! It turned out to be the hood latch. I raised the little rubber stoppers inside the engine bay to put more tension on the lock, and it eliminated the noise. Check this out:

Cool. Was it a process of elimination or did you notice something with the hood?

A little bit of both, just thought I should give it a try and it worked.
