Default Looking for the best 6000k HID Bulbs

Hi everyone,

What HID bulbs is everyone using for their factory HID headlights? I haven't been happy with the stock yellow colour of the factory HID bulbs on my 2004 LS430 and I want to upgrade them with 6000k HID Bulbs. Now I know you lose lumens by going up in K but I'm going more for looks. I want white with a hint of blue.

In my quest to get the colour I'm after I have already tried 'the best' - Philips Ultinon 6000k - Yes they were original ones and yes they cost a lot of $$$, and yes I burned them in for a few months. They were good - white on the road, but I found them to have a slight hint of purple when looking at them in the headlight LS430 housing, which is not the colour I'm after - I want white/blue tint.

I am currently trying Osrams CBI 5500K (cool blue intense) - they are still quite $$$ but the colour was better with no purple tint when looking at the headlights, but they are still a little yellow for my taste. I don't really want to go any higher than 6000k

I was going to maybe try Nokya 6000k next - What's everyone else using to get a nice white/hint of blue colour?

I was going to try the Phillips 6700k bulbs. I saw some pictures on a BMW forum and they had a nice white color with a hint of blue. Although they are 6700k's, they look similar to the cheaper aftermarket 6000k's I use in my SC300.

I would highly suggest morimoto 6k d2s bulbs. Very nice hint of blue. Morimoto is comparable to philips and only about 1/3 the price.

I've heard Morimotos were good too. I'll have to check them out.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I was thinking about trying the Philips 6700k but I'm worried there will still be that slight purple tint you tend to get with the Philips ultinon that I'm not too keen on. Might look at the morimotos. Any other suggestions welcome...

Anyone got any updates or other suggestions? I'm leaning towards trying the morimotos for the look I'm after. Also still tempted to try the nokyas but the colour can vary depending on the vehicles projectors. Saw them on a subaru and they looked great but then saw exact same 6000k bulbs on a Porsche and the Porsche projectors actually made the colour too purple. So has anyone had any good experiences with our ls430 projectors?

Has anyone tried Garax bulbs? I hear they're good quality but I want to see how they compare to Morimoto and Phillips.

By the sounds of it, you're looking for a lens swap then...

Nah, there's no way I'm ripping apart the lenses and risking damaging anything, headlights for the ls430 in my country are thousands of dollars. Just looking for some hid bulbs that look good.

Just purchased some Morimotos 6000k. Let's hope they're as good as people say. Search through Google for free shipping promo code too!

Already a bad experience. They dont make 8k, and one bulb they sent was 8k and one was 6k. So i picked up a set of Garax and they work fine. Oh, the company wanted me to pay for return shipping and a 20% restocking fee for the working bulb. Great business practice......or not.

I bought the philips ultinon bulbs from Nigel on here. I did a ls430 retrofit for my gs. Hands down the sickest combination and buying from Nigel i was 100% positive they'd be Real. I'd buy them again without hesitation.
