Default ES300 02 - emergency trunk release latch

Hi guys.
Today I decided to replace rusty license plate bolts.
So I removed the head from one bolt , and the same happened with the second bolt.
I tried Grabit Damaged Screw Remover and it didn't work. Now the only way to remove those two parts of the two bolts is to remove cover from the trunk.

I poped all the black clips,
but cannot remove emergency trunk release latch. I poped the upper part of the latch.

How do I remove the bottom part of this latch from the trunk?

it's actually pretty easy to remove.

the face plate of the handle pops right off,

and then you squeeze the clip that holds the handle on, then VOILA

Yeah
There are 4 clips which hold that part (and 2 additional just sitting there and doing nothing).

How do you squeeze them all at the same time?

I tried to pry them with wooden matches - didn't work.

Ahhh, I see what you're saying now.

I remember now that was a PITA to remove.

Honestly, I pulled and held on the handle while
Depressing those with. A pair of needlenose clips and it Eventually just popped off.
You know what I meAn?

So I ran into this problem as well. Figured it out.

You don’t bother trying to push all the pins in.

1. First you take a flat head and split the handle in 2.
2. Take pliers and literally just pull it off. It will come off.
(Not needle nose pliers).

That’s it. It pulls off. Scary but it does just come off.
