Looking at 1999 SC300
So everyone on here has modified sc's, so i was wondering what i should look for when looking at a stock 1999 SC300 with 125k miles. Car has had timing belt changed, new radio, good brakes, new tires, not driven in winter, body is really clean. I have a 2jz in my GS300 but SC's in general i don't know much about. I about the cracked vents and door panels, doors sagging, but not much more then that. I'm fairly positive the dim dash was only a 96-92 issue and that 98+ got the 5-speed auto and the VVTI? Any other input would be great, its red on tan with 125k miles for $4500 and has aftermarket wheels

I'm pretty sure the 98-00 SC300's were 4 speeds, because people with pre-'98 SC's who swap out to gated shifter, get the one for the 300's so it wouldn't look funny with 5 gear selections when they only have 4. Oh yeah, I'm one of those people, LOL. Other than that, 98-00 SC's are the way to go due to their rarity and VVTi engines.

Not a bad price for a 99 SC with those miles, but as with anything I buy, I would do somewhat of a thorough check of the car first. For the most part it sounds pretty well maintained despite a few items overall it doesn't sound like there are any major show stoppers? Take it for a spin, and see how it drives, how it sounds, any leaks, and so on...check all the controls: AC,heat, etc. Either way, good luck and keep us posted.

Ya the red one it has a salvage title but that doesn't bother me cause i know the person who originally repaired it haha. The car is for my brother, i figured since its so cheap I'll take a look. Theres also a 2004 es330 at northtown I will look at once exams are over, my main concern is the RWD and if my brother can swing that. 2TurboZ how the black sc300 doing?
