Default 07 NAV touch screen frozen

I encountered the dreaded problem that's so common with our IS350, the NAV touch panel screen just stopped responding. but am I so glad I bought the extra care extended warranty, it was replaced with a new one( or refurbished, how can I tell?) free of charge (the invoice shows P/N 86111-53060CP at the price of $2201, that has largely paid off my extended warranty cost already) from the dealer . It took 4 days for them to do it (more then 3 days just to order the part). I asked for a IS350 as a loaner but they said no IS350 only IS250, ES350 or RX350 so I went with a ES350. Just something to ponder about the EW guys.
Now I need to find a clear protective screen to stick on the new touch panel, any1 knows where I can get one?

aerotect.net sells a protective screen

I just turned my car into the dealership for a coolant leak check; sometimes I wonder if I should have bought the EW

I bought the EW, 8 yrs 120K miles on my new 2012 IS350C. With all the motors and sensors for the drop top plus all the other high tech stuff on new cars it was a no brainer for me. Also got a smokin deal on the EW, $2300.

jgr7,
I think you bought it way too early. Right now, you're perfectly fine with the factory warranty, you can wait until the original warranty almost runs out to buy it , that's what I did. Can you cancel it? You can use that money for some mods.

True. That's when I'll buy mine if I should keep my IS past basic warranty.
I also think the he could have bought the 8/120 for less than $2300 and no sales tax from Troy Deitrich and a couple of others who sell Lexus warranties at a great discount.

Pay it now or pay it later, what does it matter. The man owns a Lexus. LOL

The clear protective screen cover is not going to remedy the issue. The problem is the 4 copper leads that go to the screen.
I know cause I've fixed 3 of these so far. (Not including vroomin350's-since he basically cured it himself with my help and b16 guiding him the whole way)

As for protective screen, what I did was bought a 3M Natrual View for Tablet (I bought the one for iPad) and went to a the shop which 3M protected my car and had them cut it to size of the NAV and put it in.

Works great and durable.

I'm not getting the protective screen to fix the frozen problem, just to ...protect the screen from unsightly scratches and it's much easier to clean the smearing finger prints from what I was told.
I'm looking for pre-cut ones (like those for the smart phones), they fit much better than those you have to do the cut yourself.

I'm gonna try them, maybe I'll get the headlight overlays as well
