I saw one at the dealership recently and I wasnt feeling the wood trim they put in the LS. It looks like the cheaper stuff they use on a Venza . I need a nice clear coat shine to my wood grain

It's the standard Sports Option Package with Comfort with two tone sport seats as opposed to black with beige stiching. Not much "special" about it.

I had a 2010 Sport and I like the standard sport seat better.

actually I'm liking the matte "m35" wood. I wonder when will Lexus offer US customers the interior they have for Japan(2tones, contrast stitching)...

Well it also has:
-19-inch, split 10-spoke forged alloy wheels with summer tires
-Brembo brakes
-Sport-tuned air suspension with Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS)

Has anyone driven one yet? They're supposed to be out in November. Seems like the above should improve handling and make the car more fun to drive.

It is the standard sport option with two tone seats, but you can't upgrade to a ML radio.

If you can not upgrade to the ML sound, the managers at Lexus need to have their heads examined. That is certainly a show stopper as far as I am concerned!!!

Yes - what you detail above is the Sport Option Package. If you order the Sport version then that is what is included along with a different grill, somehwat more aerodynamic body cladding, Sport seats and the matte wood. They also have a "Touring" option which has the grill, body, seats and matte wood. It's basically an appearance package with no "Sport" guts (Brembo, Sport tuned suspension, VGRS).

I had a 2010 that I turned back in after a year. I would say that in the "sport" suspension setting, it is a reasonable compromise between sport handling and comfort. It didn't take the twisties like my 550i sport but it was really pretty good and the acceleration was better than my standard LS.

I loved the way it drove/handled but the Brembo brakes squealed so loud that I couldn't take it. Lexus tried to take care of the problem but at the end, just basically said they didn't have a fix. I researched it and tried everthing including the recommended "bed in" procedure but nothing helped. Others have complained about the squeal as well but I don't know if Lexus now has a fix for it.

At the end of the day, Lexus and I worked out a reasonable deal to get me out of the Sport and into a 2011 SWB. I do miss the driveability/handling of the Sport but not the brake noise.

Interesting. The early 2010's (I got one of the first ones off the boat) all came in with the standard radio. At the time I really wanted the Sport and there were NONE with the ML so I compromised. .I had thought that for 2011 Lexus had added the ML option to one of their packages for the LS but maybe I was mis-informed. I can see where not having the option to go to ML would be a turn off for a lot of potential Sport buyers.

I do miss the shiny, dark gray, bird's eye maple and the light gray interior of my previous 2007 LS. The Sport seat is much more comfortable. The Brembos do squeak a little but can only be heard with driver's window lowered.....so far. There's no wind noise compared to the 2007, although that car was delivered in October of 2006 and never made enough noise to pursue any kind of fix. I love the ride and handling of the Sport but hate the brake dust. Too bad Akebono doesn't make replacement pads for the Sport. Overall, I'm a happy camper.

Agreed. My new KEWL LS460 Wheels remain "Spot On" clean with my AKEBONO's. It's why I have installed them on every last vehicle and truck we've owned for the past 8 years. They are simply Fantastic and help me stop on a dime too.

Thanks for the response. The Brembo brakes on my IS F are a little squeaky too - usually at low speed when not applied hard - but not enough to bother me. Curious, what's different about the Sport package that would improve acceleration over the standard LS?

My IS F has made me a little dissatisfied with the handling of my stock (air suspension) LS 430. So I'm thinking about an F Sport LS460 or maybe the 2013 GS350 F Sport or maybe some suspension upgrades to the LS430. I don't want the LS to be as stiff riding as the IS F, but less sway and float and more rubber on the road would be nice.

The "Build Your Lexus" thing on the Lexus web site does list an $11,265 "Sport package with Additional Options" for the basic RWD LS460 that includes the full sport package, the ML stereo, and just about everything else on the list. That brings the price to $79,270.

No ML system would be a show stopper for me.

Yes you can get ML on a 2012 sport ' I have one and love it, the driving experience is better in my oppion than the regular ls. So far no noise with brakes .

Yes you can get the ML upgrade with the sport addition option as I have a 2011 with ML. But I was told you can't get it on the special addition sport option. These are two different options.
