Default Can you get a base cloth seat model?

According to my research, the BASE RX 350 does come with cloth seats. If that is true, is it even possible to locate one of these without special ordering (wait 3-4 months)? I'm helping an older gentleman purchase a RX 350, and he prefers cloth over leather. I realize this is out-of-the-ordinary and the vehicle will take a beating on resale, but he wants what he wants....

Thanks for any help.

No, you won't find one. But, you can go down to your Lexus dealer and they can perform a vehicle search. There are specialty shops that can take out the leather interior and put in a custom interior for a very reasonable price ... usually they do a cloth to leather conversion, but I am sure they can go the other way.

This topic reminds me of a time prior to retirement from the car business. It was mid 80's and the Acura line was smoking hot. We were hanging a lot of options on the showroom cars like the Lexus Coupe and the hottest option was sheepskin seat covers. And they were usually over the (mandatory) optional leather seats . So the customer was paying double for 'tush' comfort.

the better option is to tell that old cogger to take the leather seats and be happy about it.

True. Maybe the ventilated seats will help sway his opinion.

Here's another kicker. He hates sunroofs. Which means no premium package. Which brings me to my next question. Can you find one with comfort package without the premium package?

I remember the sheepskin fad. I had a MB 300E and got a set. They were awsome. Warm in the winter and actually cooler in the summer. If it were not for the fact that they were tough to keep in place, they were perfect.

I believe premium package is required for comfort package. This sounds like it'll require a special order anyway. They can remove options and deduct the cost from packages. I did that with my 450h.

Maybe he should just buy a nice clean 64 Buick.

I hate to steer a person somewhere else, but maybe a basic Toyota Highlander is just what he really wants. Good car, just not the normal Lexus options. Plenty available with fabric and no sunroof.

Yes, you can get one but like eveyone said, it's an order to build. Fabric is the way to go. It should be on the comfort package as it doesn't conduct heat or cold as much as leather which makes it comfortable. Also less maintenance, which falls in the category of comfort. Leather is already on luxury package, comfort should be have fabric.
