Ive seen people drift with just an 5spd n/a IS. As far as your questions. You can keep the stock GE head and just use the GTE bottom end or just use then internals from the GTE. You should also use the TT headgasket and while your at it might as well get some arp headstuds.

As far as swapping out trannys. you will need the following parts
5spd tranny
shifter
Slave cylinder
Clutch Pedal
neutral saftey switch
cruise control clutch switch
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch Line
Shift boot
Flywheel
Manual brake pedal
Manual drive shaft
Rear engine “transmission” mount
Stock Shift ****
Transmission cross member
New pressure plate & clutch disk
M/T Ecu

Good luck

to start drifting all you need is some basic suspension mods like coilovers/sways and an LSD. then you start building your own turbo kit.

I vote you do suspension first. Upgrade the sways and lower it. Getting this car sideways without the proper suspension is pretty sketchy. The car is tuned out of the factory for under steer. Just my .02

if you dont know where to start then maybe you should look at some the proven NA-T kits put out by SRT

I would buy SRT kit or used one off someone. Building a good kit still cost as much as SRT.

If you're drifting, you're probably going to want a nice set of coilovers. It's likely that springs won't be stiff enough.

I just built my own turbo kit, Ill share what I am doing just to give you an idea. Started with a barely used Turbonetics kit that came with turbo, intercooler with piping, header/manifold, and I start piecing from there. My set up will be good for atleast 4-500 hp

Engine
$3000 turbonetics kit with intercooler, manifold, piping,
$600 custom bent 3" exhaust
$500 GTE rods/pistons
$100 new piston rings
$350 Solid motor mounts
$150 GTE head gasket
$250 Engine gasket kit
$120 engine bearings
$400 LS400 throttle body
$150 ARP rod bolts
$200 pulley kit

Transmission
$900 R154 Tranny out of MK3 Supra
$300 2JZ bellhousing so tranny fits your motor
$700 ACT clutch kit
$500 Single piece drive shaft
$300 short shifter
$250 Shifter Modification
$50 speed sensor

Electronics
$1000 Greddy Emanage Ultimate ECU with plug N play harness and map sensors
$700 AEM boost, wideband, oil pressure gauges
$100 Greddy turbo timer
$500 HKS DLI

Im sure I'm missing a few things but its mostly all their. Im real close to starting my build, motors already out

You heard wrong my friend. Most big boy Supras use the GE bottom end in their build. They can handle the exact same amount of power.
