Default Custom shops in Orange County, CA

Hey guys in OC, CA. Where do you take your car to have the aftermarket stuff painted and installed?, i.e. front lower lip, rear diffuser, side skirts etc... I went to a couple of local body shops, they are either reluctant to do it or refuse flat out and advise me to go to a custom shop which I don't know any. If you do, really appreciate if you can direct me to one which does a good job and doesn't rip you off . Thanks.

Not sure of any places in OC, but if your willing to drive a bit theres Platinum VIP in Irwindale.

Hopefully a mod will move this to the SoCal section, you'll probably get a better response there since your looking for something specific to Socal.

if you're willing to drive for installs only, there's always musicbox near the 60 and 605. a search in the socal CL section can pull up his information.

tommy @ musicbox has worked on quite a few cars from socal CL. he's one of the very few people i trust working on my car.

Geez! 30 pages to praise the guy, he must be real good at it but it seems to me he specializes in audio, lights and suspension jobs not in body and paint works and that is what I need but thanks anyway guys.

Now I'm kinda curious as to what you want done. Just paint and install? Most body shops that are good can do that.

The front lower Wald lip replica. Like I said, I went to a couple of body shops, they stated they only do if it's a oem part (!), they are leery about doing any aftermarket one or maybe it's not as profitable to do those kind of works as compared to painting the whole car or fixing a car involved in an accident so they declined it?

auto shops usually have 2 set prices: one for insurance, and one for out of pocket. i don't think it has anything to do with profit. anyhow, it depends where you are in OC. many members in the area to platinum VIP but it is a little out of the way. i personally refer people to Fountain Valley Auto Body. they may be a little pricier than the others, but they strive for excellence and their customer service is great. you can expect for them to get the job done right the first time.

That's only a block down the street from my place. I will try them, we'll see how it works out. Thanks a bunch!

If you're just painting the front lower lip. Expect to pay anywhere from $300-$500. That depends on shop hourly rate and if any modification is needed prior to install. Time is $

Stop by K&W Autobody and ask for Ken. He's worked on all my cars and can do whatever you want him to. He's located in Diamond Bar/Walnut

Tommy = Ninja.

He can install pretty much anything for you. If you get the parts painted elsewhere, Tommy can install them for you and he doesn't charge that much either.

If Tommy could paint, do alignment and mount tires at his shop, Tommy would be a very rich man because of forums like CL

OK, I went to Fountain Valley Bodyworks, they agreed to do the job, paint and install the lower lip , paint the F-sport replica grille (in gunmetal color), I'll do the swap myself, all of that for $350, do you guys think it's a reasonable price? Next thing is to find a mobile detail guy and schedule him to detail the car prior to the installation of the parts at FVB's premises, any recommendations? for sure it's got to be a local guy, do you know anyone, Joeker?, yeah man, we have to meet some time.
