Default Supercharger for Lexus LS460

Saw New Release Information from HKS dated 7/25/2011 on the internet PDF.

GT Supercharger System: GTS8550 Complete Kit for LEXUS LS460. Looks very interesting.

According to their performance chart it should produce 70-80HP.

ECU must be factory ECU, Fuel consumption about the same as stock.

Model USF40 Code No. 12001-AT005. They did not have a price on it, but similar BMW Supercharger was $4500.

Has anyone else looked into this?

I think I read somewhere that they run close to 7k. Not sure. For the added power you can always consider a wet nitous system. The systems now a days are far safer and hace piggy back systems that are linked to throttle position and many other good things to make sure the engine is not damaged. just an idea

will be even harder to obtain this supercharger kit because HKS just shut down USA operations.

Why supercharge? The top speed (at least in the US) is still limited to 130. You'll just get there quicker I guess. If I can only find something to take the govern off.

To remove the limiter you can choose either

(i) Tom's Racing ECM upgrade; or
(ii) HKS VAC (Velocity Advance Computer) Type S T-801

Not sure if anyone in the US has one of these, but in theory, either of these should solve that aforementioned 'problem'.

HKS is supposed to have dealers in several states, some being certified installers.

Are the dealer outlets being shut down?

I would also like to know how to remove the 130 limit.

Having previously shopped HKS parts before, your above price didn't sound accurate, and quite frankly, a $5,000 supercharger (from just about any japanese company) is relatively cheap, which is another reason I looked into this further.

Turns out the HKS Japan website actually lists the price for the LS460 supercharger:
http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/...er/sc_kit.html

Car: LS460 LS460
Chassis: USF40
Engine: 1UR-FSE
Model Year: 06/09-09/08
Code Number: 12001-AT005
Price: ¥1,554,000 (¥1,480,000)

That price, converted over to USD, is approximately $19,856.85.
Further proving my suspicion, HKS turbos and superchargers are never to be considered 'cheap' by any means.

But it is nice looking:

and sounds nice too:

$20K is a lot to spend. Not likely to happen soon.

20k for a SC kit. What a joke. They act like they are supercharging a Ferrari. The car is quick enough for me and is limited to 130.

take a look at novitec rosso superchargers for ferrari 360/430/458 -- those are 45-60k. after looking at that kind of stuff, 20k is a relative bargain haha
