why anyone would waste there money on a dealer installed remote starter blows my mind with a after market unit like the compustar, u get 5000 foot range and 2way notification... I have had a compustar unit installed in every vehicle my family owns and have never had an issue with it.

I thought this was NOT available for the GS? (OEM intgrated to the smart key remote-start) ... this is what my dealer told me ... I had it put into my 2010 RX, and when I wanted it for the GS, I was told it was NOT available for the GS!

I know the dealer one is not available unless purchased brand new from the factory. Usually it is aftermarket, but I wouldnt do thats just my personal preference. But have not heard any problems.

I was under the impression since the smart key push to start combo I couldnt do the remote start, cause it would be nice since it gets kinda cold up here in ny

You can get a remote starter, but it has to be aftermarket. The OEM only comes from factory!

I have Compustar as well on 2 of my vehicles and a viper one on my truck. for the GS to work you need 2 bypass modules one for the brake pedal and another for the push button. I love mine and i have a awesome alarm system with it. The system can also have a drone module attached and app added to my iphone so that my phone can arm and disarm, as well as start the vehicle from another country if need be!!

I have found a Viper dealer in my area who will install a remote starter on my GS 450h. I thought I saw a post here where the writer said that he wouldn't do it. I need help in deciding whether to do it or not, please.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ote-start.html

get this or don't get a remote starter at all..with the factory remote starter, you have to see the vehicle or be in very close proximity or it won't work. with the viper unit i have installed, i can start my car from the 3rd floor in the health science center and walk 5 minutes to my car where it's cool and my engine has been warmed up. it still amazes me everyday and I've had the system installed for 3 months now..still excited to play with it every chance i get
