Question Is-300 trac off problem help!!!!

Hello,
Drove my IS-300 today I made a hard left turn (trying to beat the yellow light). Latter I noticed that my check-engine light was on and the TRAC OFF ICON on my dashboard keeps flashing every 3 seconds. After I parked my IS300, turned off the car and turned in back on and still the same problem shows. "Solid check-engine light and my TRAC OFF keeps Flashing every 3 sec". Anybody has encountered this problem before?. Please feel free to post here.

FYI:
- My vehicle is a 2002 Lexus is300 approx: 85,200miles. 5sp. mods, recently added fully adjustable coilovers.

You should go get the check engine light checked... the problem i have is my traction control light blinks every 3 sec, e-brake light stays on and abs light comes on... ran the code with the snap-on scanner and it said my abs unit went out... =\

Could be a few things, get the error checked out and post up the code here. My guess would be an abs sensor but you will need the error code to be sure before you start replacing things.

^^Reseted my ecu by removing the battery negative. Left it out for about 3 mins, problem fixed "No check engine and TRAC OFF". Could this be just a hecKUP on the 02 sensors. What could cause this problem?

The CEL will probably come back after a couple miles/cycles. Temporarily getting rid of the CEL doesn't mean you got rid of the problem. Get the trouble code scanned, and find out what caused the problem. Good luck.

^^Yes indeed after two days of regular driving. The problem came back again. Will get the codes read via scanner. Any suggestions on a good scanner?

Take it to a mechanic, if they are nice they can give the codes for free...

Or take it to autozone/advance auto. They are free also and can tell you the symptoms of the codes. I've done it plenty of times....

This can be the oxygen sensor or the catalytic converter. Put in the scanner and then search in google about the code readed.

If it's an evap leak or something related, many people would say it's probably the gas cap, but I would recommend checking 2 specific hoses that like to be tricky:
http://is.sewellparts.com/oem-catalo...S300-2003.html
2381846110 FUEL VAPOR FEED PIPE

and
http://is.sewellparts.com/oem-catalo...S300-2003.html
1226246090 VENTILATION HOSE NO.2

Very easy DIY if you know what you're looking for. I had the same problem, simple fix. $37.77 from Sewell Lexus (with club lexus discount) shipped. A bit pricey for two little parts, but well worth the factory replacements.

I know I keep posting on older threads since I haven't been a member for very long, but I hope I'm helping somebody still looking back for answers.
