I use the eagle branded never dull polishing wadding. It's a silver can with soft wadding that has wax and cleaners embedded into it, you just tear off some and polish up the tips and then wipe it off,throwing the wadding that is now dirty away. Works perfect! It's awesome on chrome rims too

I have this
used it on my 430's aftermarket tips it worked great but not on the 460's tips. The first owner leased the car and by the looks never had them cleaned, the carbon looks cooked or baked on to the tips. I have to say the 460 puts out some serious heat compared to the 430, thx for the suggestion tho.

That is the stuff,m how about a good degreaser and a mr clean eraser, have to be careful you don't pull the chrome off ,but it will pull the carbon with some elbow grease and some time

Well here is an update, since the tip are stainless steel used some steel wool with a lot of elbow gresse. They look 10 X's better but the inside area toward the outside of the tips won't come clean, it looks like the build up is painted on. So overall I'm happy and will stay on top of them from here on out.
..How long did it take??

Here is what I did to finish the tips up, I went to Home Depot to and bought this...

It made the project so much better and knocked them out in 45 min, (YTMV based on how bad your tips are) the sponge takes the build off without scathcing b/c it is a fine grit. You can sand in any direction to get them clean but once you get them clean, sand in the direction then removes the sanding patterns. Then I used Eagle One's Nevr-Dull to polish them up and ta-daaa!
