VSC ON and Off lights
I have a 2003 SC430. For the last few months my VSC lights have been on. My mechanice told me it might be the computer because the code that is showing up is P0051 for the oxgen sensor on Bank 2 position#1. I figured that seeing it has over 80K to replace that O2 sensor. I found a universal fit where I had to splice in the wires, glad I chose that one because the wiring was hard to locate. Anyways... After replacing the O2 sensor I rechecked the codes after clearing them earlier, which also clear the VSC lights and there was nothing. A few days later the VSC lights were back on and the P0051 code was back. Could the computer be bad and it is stuck? Any ideas or suggestions? Also why is it that the VSC lights come on at the same time the trouble code P0051?

I only replaced the one that the code was showing for. I plugged in a ODBII code reader and it brought up trouble code P0051 the O2 sensor in bank 2 position 1. So I replaced it. How ever the code still won't go away.

Two things:
1) the codes may go away with a "zero point" balance. Essentially, the dealer takes a few seconds and resets the sensors in the wheels. Do a search on VSC lights on, and you will find a few ways to fix it.
2) to reset the ECU you can just disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for am hour. Your settings will be lost but your ecu will also be reset.

OK... Lets start from the beginning... These lights started coming on when I had new tires installed at Firestone... Did they mess up a sensor? I tried disconnecting the battery for an hour, however the lights came back on short time later after driving it a bit. Could it be one of the sensors are actually bad? Or do the sensors just have to be recalibrated for the newer tires?

OK.. now I am totally frustrated.... I performed the zero point calibration according to the instructions... Lights did as they are supposed to, blinked really fast and so forth however. after starting the car, the lights came right on... Now what can I try? Can the yah sensors or the steering sensors be bad or is the O2 sensor code causing this?
