Default Ticking / Grinding noise on start up

I have had this intermittent ticking/ grinding noise on start up. It lasts for maybe a second or two and goes away. I was wondering if anyone has this issue and if there is a TSB for it. I know there was an issue with grinding on start up with the 3GS for some owners but what I am hearing doest last more than a second or two whereas the videos I have seen from other GS models is louder and longer. Maybe its the same issue but its just starting???. Not sure. I am taking her in tomorrow, but I am hoping they are not going to tell me the "can't reproduce the problem".

GS350 + engine clatter/grinding upon initial engine startup

...sounds like you have the dreaded startup cam gear problem,

TSB fix #EG020-07 - if this is really your problem.

goodluck

I am taking her in tomorrow and I will mention the TSB . The noise is not consistent but it seemed louder today than the previous 3 times I have heard it. The odd thing is that I usually only hear it when the car is cold but today I went to the store and it did it when I got back into the car after shopping. The car had only been off maybe 20-30 minutes. I hope they can get to the bottom of this for me

hey i had a grinding noise from a busted heater housing. the door that houses the interior air filter broken off and every time I started the car i would hear a loud grinding sound. You can tell if its the same problem by felling the passenger side under dash and if it shakes then there's your problem.... some what of a easy fix

I have this grinding noise also on my 07 350. I notice it occurs mostly on cold starts, and lasts maybe one second. Is there any additional info i can provide other than the TSB number when I call up the dealer?

I also have a grinding noise when I start up my car. Sort of sounds like something I heard from the Transformers movie. Anyone know if the TSIB applies to 08 GS350's?

^IA8,
-is it the cam gear issue/TSB?
-(if it is the cam gear TSB), can you verify from the dealer is they will dismount the Cylinder head....based on the TSB part list it requires replacing the cylinder head gaskets

I have a lot of faith in the techs at Bell Lexus. They said they have already done one or two of these jobs already so it shouldnt be anything to difficult
