Ask and you shall receive....as far as I know from the forums I'm only like 1 of 2 on here and there is at least 1 more guy here in Florida who does not post on here that has it done, but his is not painted to match.

Oh and just for good measure here is the link to my thread with a step by step on how I did it.

This is perfect - thanks guys

Most people use 3M or rivet it to keep it on there? I see the first posted used screws and painted them.

Your welcome Johny

For me personally....I only used the rivet gun to connect the two pieces of the lip after it was extended. You will notice once you have the SC4 front lip that there are already holes on the top of the lip, this will be your reference for drilling holes on your existing 97 bumper.

Have someone hold the lip where you want it to be and the other person will drill the holes. Once this is done you can go to each hole and just use a screw with a washer on one side and a nut to screw onto the end. The nut will be on the inside of your existing 97 bumper so that way the lip will never unloosen itself from driving on the road.

Plus the advantage to screwing the lip onto the bumper is that if you ever need to take the lip off for any reason all you have to do is unscrew in 10 to 15 minutes, whereas using a rivet gun will not allow you to do that.

I am getting my front bumper repainted as the last person who painted it didn't do well with the primer... Paint has flaked off from it. I brought everything to my body guy and gave him the info from this thread. So thank you guys

Now I have a serious polishing job on my hands to get the rest of the car looking as good as the front bumper!

The gap between the two ends of the lip is eaxctly 5'' after the extension. I did mine this weekend. PRS22, looking good. I'm temporarly using screws, rivits were a pita. After seeing yours painted, I'm might mold mine. I think it would look good in pearl white. Check this out. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-it-works.html

Thanks for the compliment PEARL2 Yea the rivets are hard to use and screws are always the easier route. I honestly would have loved to have molded my lip to the front bumper but since my car is my DD I just don't have that kind of down time to get the job done right that fast.

I remember seeing that other SC before and the way the lip was molded was perfect to the front bumper. Unfortunately there has not been any updates on that car recently. If you do decide to mold it on and paint it DWP be sure to post some pics because I know it would look sick

P.R.S.22, what happened? Your lip's got more gap than your granpa's teeth! I love the wheels on that though. 20"?
