I'm excited , I just bought my conversion from R & J , and Jes I'm gonna have a boat load of questions for you. Hopefully I lucked out enough because the conversion is from a 98 sc300 and my car is an sc300. Don't really feel like cutting any shift linkage. Wiring diagram looks awesome btw.
Does anyone know of a larger gated/ungated shifer I can fit into the place of the existing one? I want it to look more like the BMW auto shifter with the leather shift boot. I would just put a leather boot over it but it would look like i'm trying to imitate a manual. I love the way the x5 shifter looks. So Im looking high and low, I might just try to fit a BMW shifter in there somehow....
I am trying to get this look....vvv

Eh, I ended up wiring it to the single and only pink wire on the middle plug's harness that goes to the middle of the gauge cluster. I was told this was the vehicle speed sensor wire. Can anybody confirm this? My car is a 1992 SC300.
I'm going to be doing this mod in the next few days on my 300. I was able to get one from a 300 from gazi so we'll see how the wiring works out. According to this thread i should be able to reuse the shift linkage as well.
I have a chance to get a gated shifter from a SC300. I have a 93SC400. There is a difference I have noticed in the gear its a 3 on the 300 and a 4 on the 400. Will I have any problems wiring the overdrive. I have read threw the thread and from what I see some say its doable some say its not. Any help before I make the purchase and attempt to do this mod would be greatly appreciated help me out CL thanks!
can someone confirm if a 300 gated shifter would work on a 400? Is the o/d then #3 instead of #4?
It will work.
Open up the black housing of that gated shifter and understand my wiring diagrams, you should able to compare / modify wires. You could separate the O/D wires if you'd like.
