Or like me, the world's weakest "strong" man... or was that the world's strongest weak man...

Someone asked why another state listed before another... I think they only list top two for luxury and the total by state is total of all vehicles, not just luxury... but the list is somehow listed by just luxury vehicles. Very strange indeed...

Fairfax/Loudoun Counties, VA, and Montgomery County, MD, both D.C. suburban counties, now have the highest-average incomes in the nation, eclipsing all of CA except Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Little wonder we trail only CA in new-car sales.
Yes, but I've read the key Bay Area counties have the highest average household incomes in the entire US.

But back on topic, which is about luxury brands and what percentage of total auto sales are luxury vs. other. Yep, I do notice many more Mercedes than Toyotas in the parking lot of the country club 1/2 mile from my house, but I don't think that has much merit in the discussion.

Those niche luxury cars are becoming more common, AM, Masi, Tesla, Lambos.... And why do I see so many Masi's around lately?

I'm surprised that Maserati was consistently the most popular niche brand.

Maybe (?) dealer location (type, number) should have been factored in since it could potentially skew the numbers.

I'm thinking that the Maserati sales in the niche category are in part due to the more affordable price point...they are at the cusp of the ultra-luxe class, with a Quattroporte beginning around $106K...not too different from the LS 600h L $105K...but with a more exclusive badge and more unique/rare vehicle design.

And I don't know why they ranked certain states that way, despite the numbers telling perhaps a different level. They also have slightly different totals for Lexus/BMW/Mercedes sales. I was also surprised at the margin in Texas, where Lexus is quite ahead of the 2nd place contender by a full digit place.

I was in Newport Beach this past weekend for a conference. Within 45 minutes, I saw three Bentleys, four Porsches, half a dozen Range Rovers, and about five dozen BMWs, Lexuses, Audis, and Mercedes. Made my weekend.
