My friend has a loaded blk on blk Genesis 4.6 and that thing feels solid. The doors close more solidly than any other car I remember, as much so or better than the LS 460. I was quite impressed to say the least, and if I were in the market for a car in that class the Genesis would be the one I would pick. The Genesis 4.6 also has more hp than the GS 460.
I was at the Mazda dealer today (terminating a Mazda6 lease one of my son's had - long story) and I mentioned to my salesman that I'm probably getting an LS430 in the spring. I've known this guy since 94. He thought it was a great choice and we talked about sourcing a nice one. He liked the idea of buying one someplace nice and having a great drive home. He said his brother recently traded in his LS430 for a LS460 - and the brother is missing the 430 because he liked it better.
I plan to get a LS460L once my business gets better. I don't know, have had 2 LS430 UL already, so I don't see I get another 430 again. And there isn't anything else I want from Lexus current lineup. Well, can't afford a LFA!
I'm not impressed with the exterior of the LS460/600! I think the interior of the LS460/600 is the best of all the Lexus LS lines period. That said, I respect the thread starters opinion and feel its disrespectful to agure how he feels. He may just like the LS430 better and thats that! I love the 430 and would buy a LS460/600 if one comes along next year with the right color and miles and navigation to my liking(also like the GS350/460)! All in Life is about taste in this world and hey lets face it. There are some European car buyers who feel any Lexus is a Toyota on steroids but, we dont agree! Lets respect our fellow members opinion about the LS 430 being the choice to his/liking!!! L.G.N.M

That's partly why we constantly shop around to see if there's anything that we can aspire to (within reason that we can/are willing to afford). We're on our 2nd LS430 and as much as we like them, would be interested in something different/better if we find it. We will NOT buy one of these big depreciators new (just too many better things we can do with our money, even if it's to give it to the needy), so we've driven 2-3 year old examples of the Audi, BMW, MB, and Lexus flagships, and we keep coming back to the LS430 as our favorite somehow. That is, with the exception of the S550 Sport. That thing is awesome. The problem is, we're worried about reliability, not to mention the fact that they are *still* depreciating at the rate of about $800/month (which is better than the $1400/month average depreciation since new, but not something I can feel good about).

You should try out the new LS460 Sport. It has a sport suspension and Brembo brakes! It's new for 2010 so if you don't want to buy new you should at least test drive one and if you like it wait to find a CPO in a couple years.

Im thinking of getting an LS in a few months too. Now, being an average 21 year old, the 04-06 is what I can afford. Even if I had the money to buy the 460, Id still go with the 430 based on looks. To me it oozes luxury
LS430 is definitely a great car but the LS460 is superior. When the LS430 came out LS400 owners were saying how the old model was superior in all aspects.
... Akio Toyoda openly admitted Toyota's quality have gone down in recent years.
I've the same impression when I compare my LS400 and my LS430: The LS400 is more quality. Paint is one example. Compare the fuel doors and you see what I mean.
I have an LS 460 and wanted to trade it in for an LS 430, but my LS 460 has more power than the LS 430s I've test driven. So far, I've decided to keep the LS 460.
frankly, im not surprised by the responses by the 430 crowd here because we all know lexus drivers are the most loyal.
However, I would disagree that the 430 is better than the 460. Even if you can look past the updated design language of the 460 (both interior and exterior), you cannot look past the technological and engineering marvels that lexus has put into the 460. With that said, Im glad to here that the 430 drivers are still happy drivers, just goes to show that an old lexus is still one of the best on the road
