Jury's still out on whether it was worth the $1,250 I spent on it. It came with a new timing belt and fan bracket, but had horrendous front seal leaks, broken A/C compressor, trashed interior, driveline vibrations and horrendous tires on it. My goal is to make it a good car for under $3,000 total. Should I make a thread out of it?

I've put maybe $500 or so into it.

So far I've replaced the Starter, F&R brake pads, 4 oil filters, and a battery when I bought the car.

This car is awesome.

too much.
timing belt & water pump - $1000
A/C - $1000
ball joint, wheel bearing, control arms, brakes - $2000
17inch rims & tire - $1000
engine + trans mounts - $500

It could use new suspension and rear control arms.

Mine is a 1990, purchased last December with 151,xxx now at 164,xxx

It was well maintained by the previous two owners, but I'm a big believer in preventive maintenance as I plan to keep this car until it dies.

*All services performed by Lexus of Bellevue unless otherwise noted

1/09 Oil and filter change $30 parts (performed myself)
2/09 Power Steering flush and clean rack solenoid screen: $80
3/09 Oil and filter change $30 parts (performed myself)

4/09:
R&R leaking valve cover gasket, bank 1 $325
Transmission flush $215
Differential fluid change $79
throttle body remove & clean $310

7/09 Ignition coils $400
7/09 fuel pump R&R $1000
8/09 Oil and filter change $30 parts (performed myself)
10/09 Front brake job $200 (labor only, I provided the OEM pads)
10/09 replace wiper inserts $10

TOTAL: $2709
Maintenance cost per mile (not including fuel): $0.21

I just started hearing some clunking/creaking in the front suspension, so I'm probably up for bushings/ball joints in the next couple weeks.
