I do plan to head back out to Motor Sports Ranch with the S2000 soon. I wish I would have tried the IS350 out there once ...

I can not friggin' believe it, but when I was finished swapping my exhaust, wheels, and intake back to stock, and was getting in to drive it for my very last time straight to the dealership, IT WAS ALL FARGGED UP! The A/C won't work, the power steering is out, and the transmission won't let me shift out of park! The gauge cluster is lit up with every warning indicator, and the info display goes back and forth between "Check System" and "Check VSC". Even the temperature guage says the temperature is "E"!

I tried resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, but that didn't help. I checked all the fuses, but everything is fine. I hooked up my OBDII scan tool, and everything came back clean. Then I called Carchitect, and found out how to unlock the transmission so I could drive it to the Lexus dealer where he works. Hopefully he will be able to figure it out tomorrow so I can get this trade finallized!

DAMNIT! I've never had a single problem with this car!!! It's like it knows that I'm trading it, and is trying to prevent it!

Having a roadster as my only vehicle sucked, so I felt that the IS350 would be more practical while still being sporty. It was my first Toyota product after a long list of Honda products. However, now that I'm married again, and my wife has an SUV, I don't really need the bigger car. After quite a bit of soul and internet searching, I've decided to trade my IS350 in on another S2000.

Yesterday, I found a great deal on an '08 GP White S2000 for $26,500 (red interior, removable hard top, OEM rear wing, 6600 miles), so I put a deposit on it. I believe the dealer (Bankston Honda of Lewisville) is also giving me a fair trade-in value on my IS350 ($22K - Base model with 49,000 miles).

I'm sure I'll miss this car, and will probably regret the fact that I didn't ever try reclaiming my "Fastest Known IS350 in the 1/4 mile" title.

I'm in the exact situation. I just got rid of my second S for the 350. Getting divorced and I have two kids. I miss my S so bad it makes me sick to think about it.

On the bright side, if you are going to haul kids around the is350 is the way to do it! I love the car and having torque is nice. But once you've driven an S, nothing compares. I'll get another one next year. AP1s are really affordable now.

I've really been enjoying the S2000! I still miss the torque quite a bit, but everything else is great! I've had the mod bug really bad, and have purchased a really bad-*** ECU, carbon fiber CAI, and Work Meister 3pc. wheels. The ECU is the most exciting thing, but it won't be shipped for another 10 days. I sold the hard top, since I drive with the top down so much.

How is the difference in torque? Those S2K's are awesome cars but are way too small(which is good and bad).

The torque difference combined with weight and gearing is HUGE. My IS350 had a neck snapping launch from a stop, but the S2000 feels about like a launch in the rain after VDIM killed the power. I suspect that an S2000 would do fine against an IS350 from a roll above 15 MPH if driven well.

BTW, when I said "would do fine", I meant that it would do fine in a drag race from a roll. Any other performance competition would be an embarrassing experience for the IS350.
