not sure what she is looking for, but the 350 won't qualify, mileage wise. the 250 might. check here to see which vehicles qualify:

^^^ Yeah, we thought about her just giving me cash and then purchasing the car under my name and then later on transferring it to her. For $3,500 it may not be worth the hassle though. I imagine she'd be able to get at least that much off toward the end of the year on an IS-C 250.

not suggesting you try to circumvent the rules/requirements, but to clarify something for others: the cars credit is in addition to any discount you get from the dealer. you shouldn't have to, but since others have mentioned that dealers are trying to stand firm on msrp because of the program, you may have to negotiate the price without mention of your cars trade and then only discuss the trade when you are happy with the price of the new vehicle.
