Default Headlight bulb replacement

I have read on several threads about the use of RAZO premium white and silverstar bulbs. Can these bulbs be used without modifications to wiring or fuses?

Welcome to ClubLexus,

There have been no reports of problems with wiring or fuses with the two bulbs you mention. Low beam OEM is 51 Watts. These bulbs are 55W. The difference is negigible. Be mindful that there are some brands/bulbs that are rated higher (80W low beam). There have been problems reported with these bulbs.

I ran SilverStars on my Low beams until I bought the HID upgrade kit. I still run SilverStars on my High beams. No problem.

Good luck

I'm using the Silverstars too on my GS400, and bought a set for the RX, but haven't installed them yet. I've been thinking about putting in HIDs in one or both, although I'd probably use just the Silverstars in the RX. Don't want to blind on-coming cars.

Where did you get your HID conversion kit? Are they true Phillips 6000K, and plug and play? Been lurking and hemming and hawing about them, since they're not cheap (about $500?).

Phillips 4200K bulbs/McCulloch Ballasts from SUVLights.com.

Philips 6000K was the same price.

When I bought mine, they were $425 shipped.

Any idea who the supplier is for the OEM HID bulbs? Is it Sylvania or Philips? I know the OEM halogen foglight bulbs are Sylvania (at least on my '02 they were).

hello, me again, i had some free time tonight so i looked through the forum and i borrowed some pictures from another users post (JohnsRX). JohnsRX installed some awsome looking real HID's in his RX, i agree with everyone else that commented on his, they are awsome! to show the difference in the look alike halogens and the real thing i put some of the pics of my RX up next to his with the real HID's. obviously the real thing looks better, but for those who are trying to decide to spend the big bucks are just get look alikes this may help, hope you didnt mind me using your pics John....

Thumbs down No Low Bean Lights

I replaced all headlight bulbs with Sylvania Ultra bulbs. 9005 & 9006. I did this when I had one of the bulbs went bad on the low beam passenger side. After this replacement I have no low beam lights on either side but have hi-beam.

All fuses are good. Are there any known issues for 2003 RX300 using the newer Sylvania Ultra bulbs?

Thanks,

bobby
