Just replaced mine a month ago. I spent a lot of time looking for the OEM one. I got mine here: http://www.lexuspartsworld.com/Scrip...?idproduct=314
It is actually a lexus dealer (Roseville or something like that).

The dealer will replace it with the cheaper (it is literally cheaper) 87139-YZZ08 for any maintenance/service work. But for warranty work, the dealer will need to replace it with 87139-07010 part like the one from the car originally. I checked (my local lexus) with stevenscreek lexus and they have both. Fremont Magenssun lexus only has the YZZ08. Cheaper to buy online.

I just ordered one from sewell yesterday along with some wiper blade inserts. The toyota dealership where i got my oil changed wanted $52 for the filter and $25 for both wiper blades. I told them no thanks, I'll order one online..... I'll take a pic when it comes in.....

I bough a cabin filter from WIX for an RX350...and it looked just like the stock one. So what I'm saying is..it's probably the closest thing you'll get to the original fitler.

Just ordered one from Ebay made by TYC that seems to be good quality. No carbon tho. Not sure how long the carbon removes smell anyway...

Next time I'll grab the WIX carbon to compare.

LOL! I had similar thoughts when I was reading through this thread, but you put it way better than I would have.

The bottom line is that you're getting in and out of the car introducing allergens all the time, and many/most cars don't even have in-cabin air filters. I think these things are money makers for Lexus 1st, and beneficial for the consumer a distant 2nd. Putting the air on "recirc" will keep you from breathing any horrid outside air if it's of great consequence to you.

With all this talk about the two different filters. Does anyone have a pic of the two side by side so that we are able to see the difference in the construction of the pleats in the material?

If you really want to get into it, spray some deodorizer called OZIUM onto the a/c combination filter and that helps to rectify that moldy smell too.
No need for this in Texas. I don't think anything could survive inside a non-air conditioned car.

Toyota filters are in a red box. these days since they are cutting back they are using some kind of cheap aftermarket filter made for our cars. and thats what they are selling. for my airfilter i used the ls460 charcoal filter
