Ford is taking the cover off what may be the ultimate stealth-mobile at the Chicago auto show: the understated 2010 Taurus SHO.
Packing an EcoBoost 365-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 and all-wheel dive, Ford says that this SHO offers performance and 25 mpg on the highway.
The SHO, shorthand for Super High Output, will start at $37,995. A sportier package with 20-inch wheels, upgraded suspension and brakes, and a taller, more responsive final drive ratio will add $995 to the starting price.
The SHO goes on sale this summer alongside the base 2010 Taurus.
I think this looks really nice!! 38K is steeep for a Taurus.
But then I compare it to fully loaded Maxima's, Acura TL's, Genesis, SRT-8, and G8 GXP and the amount of power it puts out and unfortunately(because the cars I listed should never be that expensive in the first place) its a very competitive price.
Is it for me? Probably not, but I'm sure it will have its fan base.
This Taurus actually looks nicer than I originally imagined. And the interior is sharp, Ford really stepping up their interiors . Lets not forget the 365hp twin turbo 3.5L V6 with AWD (thank goodness for no FWD)!!! I thought I would never say this, I wouldn't mind having a Taurus, this actually has potential.
Yeah at first glance you think " oh noes, Ford Taurus for 40k" and you see the interior and the specs and well, what is coming close to it? ES, TL, RL, G37x, and the cars GFerg mentioned seem VERY overpriced now.
For a Ford, dare I say that car actually looks good. Looks like they borrowed alot of European style, sprinkled with some minor Japanese styling and they came up with what looks like a winner.
