I have a 2000 RX 300 and it currently has 122,000 miles.
My problem:
There are some squeakings and sounds coming from the engine compartment during acceleration from a complete standstill. Took my car in and the mechanics said the Bushings were set wrong.
Will this cause any major issues on my engine and transmission?
How I feel the transmission may be affected:
I feel a little bit of lag on my RX 300. THe problem occurs mostly in 3rd to 4th gear transition. Sometimes i feel a bit of a stutter during this transition too. I have changed the transmission fluid. I am not sure what other rememdy there is for this.
It would be helpful to know the color of the transmission fluid that was changed out. If not, do you know if the transmission fluid was every changed before? Do you know if the new fluid put in was Toyota/Lexus Type IV, or some other brand?
I'd guess that the bushing issue was unrelated to the transmission.
The only thing that can make sense is the engine or transmission mounts have gone bad. If they go bad, they can affect the lowest and top gear [part of the torque is lost as one or both (engine/transmission) move].
