You're right! The back does look like an IS...in fact the car's profile looks like a
super deformed IS that someone posted a few days ago ha ha

Seriously though... the car does look really good. Kudos to Mazda. Their designs have really revived the brand. Can't wait to see the Mazdaspeed version!

Mazda did a brilliant job on the new 3! Miles ahead in styling compared to the Nissan, Toyota, Honda offerings in the compact segment. My gf who had the previous model and now has a Saab would be amazed.. Is that HID projectors I see in the headlight housing?

that looks fantastic. it looks like a car someone has already modified from a stock (plain) car. all it needs is some wheels and lowering and then wow!

Hard to believe this and the Corolla are in the same segment.

This just looks so, so, so much better.

I like it! I wonder if they will update the Mazdaspeed version and come out with a sedan and hatch.

This design is light-years superior to the Corolla and the Sentra. Not even close.

I like! Mazda is really doing a great job in making cars that don't look like econoboxes. This will win hands down agains all competitors in a beauty contest.

Isn't the new Ford Focus going to be based on the same platform? Can anyone chime in on this?

I would think so, since it along with the Volvo S40 are based on the same global platform. If your talking about the NAM version of the Focus, I think its still based off the same old platform the as the first Focus.
