Default Headlight Leveling Warning Light

My 02 has since a few weeks the Headlight Leveling Warning Light going on. The Lexus Service did not find anything wrong with the system nor did they find any errors in the log. They charged up the battery and the light went off. It took them 2 days to figure that out at no charge to me, thanks.

Unfortunately did that not fix the problem, light came back on. I toped off the charge of the battery, still the light comes on. The only modification is a VAIS ipod I put in about 6 weeks ago and the warning light problem started after that. I have disconnected the radio, light is still coming on.

Anyone with the same experience and maybe a solution?

I've just run into the same thing...Though I have not gone to Lexus yet the light on the dash just popped on for me. I've checked the motors and even changed them but they are fine. As to if there is another reason why.. I do not know. Both headlights seem to work fine but the light is still on. Is there a way to reset the light? The only thing i had done right before was the HID foglights.. Could this have triggered this in anyway?

Why did they charge the battery for?

From what I understand, there's a leveling sensor on the rear axle. That seems to be the most common part to fail that would cause the Headlight Leveling Warning Light to come on.

It's mentioned briefly in this thread...see post #4. No details though, sorry.

I guess, Lexus checked everything and found only a low charge on the battery. And after the re-charge light was off for some time.

But I will ask if they checked the sensor for the leveling.

I was told it was probably the rear sensor as well. I swapped it and the light stayed on. Turned out my front sensor was bad. I ended up swapping out both sensors to fix it even though only one was bad. At least now I know they are both good for sure.

Spoke to my Lexus people and they had checked the sensors. Found no error codes. They asked me to bring in the car again. No urgency, so I might wait until next service.

Default Finally trip to Lexus

Had the car at service this week. The warning light was still on (must be for an eternity). They found that the pins on the front sensors were loose. They fixed those for an almost reasonable 200$. Reasonable because a new sensor is 750. Let's see how long this solution will last as I was advised that I still might need a new sensor down the road.
