Arrow DIY replace tail light bulb 92-96 ES300

well the title kinda tells you what this is about so ill jus get started. before you begin make sure u have a phillips head screwdriver and a 8mm deep socket. Just as a heads up, you will have to remove the entire tail light to replace any of the bulbs. also, find a bowl or something to keep the nuts and clips in our you lose one and feel like . OK so STEP 1: pop the trunk and pull up on the black plastic guard that runs along the top rim of the trunk.

2 nuts are close together on the inside wall of the trunk and the other 2 are in the corner. one of the nuts on the inside wall is tucked inside a lil hole so u might need a flashlight to find it

step 4 pull the tail light out towards you and twist the bulbs to remove them from the housing. you can let them hang down but try not to lose track of what bulbs go where. this pic should help you out

step 5 Make sure you dont go out and buy amber or red bulbs since all the bulbs that go in the tail light housing are supposed to be clear. Rear turn signals are 1156. Tail lights are 1157. License plate light is 168. the back up light is also 1156 and the rear side marker is the same 168 bulb as the license plate light.

step 5 isnt rocket science. once you replace the burnt out bulb do all the steps in reverse to put everything back together. when you are puttin the clips back in put the female end in the hole first then plug the male part into that and it should lock into place. I know i know its kinda short for a DIY and a lil sloppy with the cell phone pics and stuff but if you have any questions i check my messages all the time so jus PM or IM me if you want. GOODLUCK

I just used this to replace my license plate bulbs with LEDs. Thanks for such a detailed disassembly man. I would've been lost. I did crack the trunk piece though...thats the only thing that worried me but whatever, super glue ftw

Thumbs up Thanks a lot!

My rear tail light blew. So I opened my boot and realized I didnt have a clue which of the screws to undo or where to begin. As a newbie I was doing this with some trepidation. But your instructions and accompanying photos were great. Thanks!!

I just replaced the license plate light bulbs with your detail instructions and pictures. I couldn't do it without them. Thank you very much.
