Huh?!?!? You don't need to reprogram anything after changing the key fob battery.

I change my batteries in my vehicles key fobs every two years and never had to have them reprogramed.
Changed the IS batteries a few weeks ago.
I usually buy hard to find number batteries on Ebay.

You're right, but if the battery is removed for an extended period of time, or it remains dead for a while it will have to be re-programmed. I'm not sure what that time is, though. I think the owners manual explains it.

The FOB batteries are only about $3 a piece. They are the "CR" type and need no reprogramming. You will be fine.

I think next time i order from sewell i will stock up on some batterys and store them in the car. I got a quick question:

When the fob dies, i know you have to use the metal key to get into the car but i cant turn the metal key in the hole under the door. ANY special trick?

Might be a little corrosion in the lock mechanism. Just my guess, let the dealer check it out on your next service. Possible salt air living in SF with the Pacific nearby. Maybe spray a little WD 40. You can purchase those CR batteries at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Target etc. Save money not buying it from the dealer.

My dealer changed mine for free as a courtesy. People on the forum have reported paying as much as $12 at their dealer. They are available for a fraction of that on eBay.

Would you happen to know the exact battery number or model number to get? NVM, found it:

The Energizer version has the "E" in front of it as shown here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Energizer-cr1632...QQcmdZViewItem

It's the same right? They have it labeled as "ECR1632" on the package.

At this rate, we should change our batteries every year.
