It's brand new in the box, never installed. I thought I said in my post it was brand new.

i didn't see that part. I'm going to check out how much it will cost to reprogram because the steering ecu to work perfect with your car has to be programmed in the same car it's being installed in. Do you have the original receipt ?

According to the ISF steering thread it needs to be reprogrammed using a utility in TechStream. Not sure if OP means he would "reprogram" it prior to shipping (which doesn't make any sense), or that you'd bring the car to him and he'd program the ECU to your car following installation.

why doesnt it make sense for me to install it in my car, program it and remove it? I have tech stream and I have the same unit in my car which I programmed myself. Once the unit is programmed, it's good for any car.

Just my understanding of how the programming works, but it involves setting steering parameters, including both left and right extremes and centering of the wheel. Even within the same model/same model year, there can be minute differences among IS cars that could lead to serious steering problems if the ECU is not programmed to that specific car.

At least that's how I understand it.

You would have to program it to the car you are installing it on. You cannot just program on your car and expect it to plug and play on another car.
