Default Brand New Unprogrammed Lexus Smart Card Key

I recently bought a brand new smart card key (credit card sized) from my dealer and they claim it cant be programmed.

My loss is your gain. Still in OEM packaging and never been programmed... I have the receipt somewhere if its required.

$250 shipped firm. I will not sell for anything less than $250 so dont waste your time lowballing.

It's $250.51 from Sewell with Club Lexus discount.
Buyer can save $10 on the shipping.
I'd still buy from Sewell for possible return if I changed my mind or there was a problem with the unit.

I think OP intended to mean that It's not broken, but rather his dealer does not know how to program the smart card key to his car.

OP - I think I read that Sewell can assist you in contacting the dealership if you wanted to get your key programmed. Also read that members have brought dealerships instructions on how to program the key and they'll do it then.

Process shouldn't take any longer than an hour (nor should it be billed for more).

For whatever reason on the '06 IS,the card Smart Key can't be programmed.
At least that's what I've read.

I guess it can't be returned because it's a electrical part or something.I thought it could be returned.
If it hasn't been programmed and has original packaging,it should be returnable but...

supposedly 06's and possibly 07's cant be programmed. if someone can get it to work ill keep it. gonna call sewell tomorrow. otherwise if someone wants it, its yours. came out of oem packaging all of 10 minutes. brand spanking new.

This item is NOT defective. it just may not work with my model year.

bump. sewell customer service is a joke. I tell him its brand new like 20 times and he says change the battery..

cant confirm if it will work on an 06-07 so if you want to try thats on you.

NO! that is not true

Part #: 8990450480 is for 06-08
http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2006/1861.html

Part #:8990450642 is for 09-12
http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2011/1860.html

They are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. One is thinner and has a two sided key, they are completely separate the key for sale will not work for 09-or newer!
