I don't put much hope in this deal, but any 2009-10 IS owner prefer the more subtle look of the 2006-07-08 tail light then I'm willing to do the deal.

Swapping tails from an 09 will do you no good if you are installing them in an 06-08. You need an adapter harness to get them to light up.as of now sewell is the only place to get the tails with the special harness

isn't it possible to swap the harness from the 09 car back to my car?

Does Sewell include the harness as well when they sell the tail light for ~$1k?

Its a different style harness in the 09/10 then we have in the 06-08.

I have talked to other members who ordered from Sewell and that have installed the the 09/10 in the older models. The tails do come with an adapter harness that fits on your stock harness and the other side fits into the 09/10 tails. I just ordered a set from Sewell 2 days ago. If you register on the Sewell website with your clublexus username you get a discounted price. The tails come out to be around $750. Still pretty expensive but they are sexy as hell.

False, it's a direct swap when both of the tail lights have the factory harness.

To confirm the wire harnesses from the two different style tail lamps are in fact different. There’s a couple bulbs that are different as well. All this adds up to us putting a ‘kit’ together to make sure everything is plug and play. So yes, if one were to trade their tail lamps with wire harnesses to a newer/older model, it would work just fine.

what do you mean? You cant take the installed factory harness from your 06-08 and directly plug it into an 09/10 tail light. Ive seen the backs of each tail light in pictures on ebay. The female pieces within each tail light are different. Why would Sewell include 4 harness's with the tail lights if you dont need them?

It's a DIRECT swap. If you transfer the tail lamps with the existing harnesses there is NO modification required. Good luck finding this trade.

Correct. The key here is "...with the existing harnesses...". If you're buying new lamps, you'll need to purchase to harnesses. If you're just trading someone, then just make sure your swapping over the harnesses as well.
