i discuss some of the differences in the internal differences (post 97) but also the exterior shell of the 98-2000 models wont work for the 2001+ and vice versa although the whole mirror assembles can be upgraded from the 98-2000 to the 2001+ models (i dont know for 100% what functions you would lose as i downgraded to the 98-2000 for my passenger one and i know what i lost but i dunno about your models)
also the 98-2000 for some reason have a spring in the base that i didnt seem to find in my 2001+ model, if you pop it out this spring your in a pickle.this guy was nice enough to help you guys out

sorta, not direct plug and play.....but glass can be swapped or you can plug them straight up.....98-2000 mirrors on 2001+ car or vice versa but they wont work right 100%

i will check tomorrow to make sure i still have them. i swapped over to the clt covers that i bought in the group buy 2 years ago. You pay for the shipping you can have the cover and its painted 202already. PM an email or cell # and i can send u pictures. If you follow Sakataj DIY it is very very clear and a real simple install

The problem is there is nothing wrong with the shell of my mirror other than the paint is peeling horribly. The entire car looks great and only that one stupid mirror is f'd up. I do not want to spend $100 to paint the one mirror as it will stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the car and I dont want there to be paint matching issues. I'd rather buy an oem painted shell in good condition, clean it up and slap it on.

Rock just PM'd you. Yes just using as reference, but basically the same procedure as far as he is concerned for dis/reassemble. probably a little more simple. I will dig these out for ya, you can have for free. I will text you the pics tomorrow
