Question FS: 2000 Stage III GS400

Following in the footsteps of manaray and Dex I too am considering selling my GS. As with them I'm in no hurry or even sure I want to sell right now. However I've got this nagging feeling inside. This happened to me before I decided to upgraded to my Stage III but the fact that I'm itching for a new project car so soon after has me seriously thinking about selling it if I get the right offer.

The stats:

White 2000 GS400 with Premium Package
Debadged with black chrome grill and trunk logo

SRT Stage III Supercharger
420 RWHP
356 RWTQ
See here for the dyno.

The car has about 25K miles on it of which about 7K miles on the car since I installed the Stage II with no problems at all. See the sig for all the major mods. I've attached some pics below that were taken at the latest ClubLexus meet.

I've got most of the original parts (though the 17" chromes are currently up for sale) so you can make an offer with or without them(the parts). I will not however consider parting it out.

As manaray so eloquently put it, only reasonable offers need apply. Err.... perhaps he was a bit harsher.

I can understand why you feel. I get the same feeling toward my 430 too.

I hate to tell ya all but I don't have "hard" 1/4 mile or 0-60 numbers. If I had to guess I'd say somewhere between 4.5 and 5.0 secs with a non-brake torqued launch.

Nope. Like I said, sometimes I get the urge to move on to another project car. OTOH, I may just keep on trucking too and do more to this one.

umm.... i think it should be faster than that? the m5 has 394hp and 368lb-ft at the crank, and and you have way more hp and torque at the RW. the m5 is over 4000lb and i think even with tons of stuff in our car it's at most 4000lb. so by pure numbers i guess your gs4 should run around 4.3 to 4.5?

Say it aint so!

Are those co-workers of yours teasing you to get a real sports car or something?

Consider this the new GS will arrive next year with the AWD option, couple that with the new SRT Turbo kit and your king for many years to come.

If you do sell I hope it goes to a loving home.

rominl,

Don't get caught in the numbers trap. There are many things that have an effect on 0-60 and quarter mile: Torque & HP curves vs. peaks. Tranny. Gearing. Suspension/Traction. Driver.

Next time we hit one of the 1/4 mile tracks you should come along. It was certainly an eye opener for me!
