hmmm very tempting considering mines need to be replaced, but are these compatible with 01+ w/ oem hids?

Wont quite work with OEM HID equipped cars. That is why both of us earlier said if it were OEM HID's we would have bought them already. The harness is different so its not plug and play, as well as there is no auto level for the HID, thus those cars with OEM HID's will trigger the auto leveling failure warning light on the cluster.
