Newby looking for used GS400 engine
Hello all, I'm new to the site. i recently purchased a 1998 Lexus Gs400 that needed motor replacement. Does anyone have any idea where to purchase one in Northern Cali, Sf area or within reasonable distance. I purchased one from Sacramento ( Rancho Cordoba) but they sent the engine to me seized and now I'm in a situation of trying to get refund and find new engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Previous owner stated it wouldn't start. After having my mechanic look at it, he said " It had no compression in one cylinder which had water in it" Also said" He couldn't find a bad head gasket. Probably jumped timing i dunno. But now the valves are bent and needs heads redone. The car has 166,000 miles. Do i need to rebuild the lower end or can I just redo the heads and timing belt etc.. without touching lower end? And any ideas what this would cost versus looking for used engine?

Found used engine
I bought another engine that's in excellent shape with low miles with compression @ 200. I will doing all the maintenance prior to install, timing belt, water pump etc.. 
I have the old motor still, So if anyone is interested in parts or the complete engine let me know.
