98 GS 400 For Sale
I'll be selling my car by next week to a local dealer if I don't get a better offer - he's offered me $23.9k, but I thought I'd post it here to see if anyone's interested and would be willing to beat this price. I'l looking to get $26k.
The car is black on black, 17" chromes, rear spoiler, interior wood package (no nav), 65k miles & I had the 60k mile service done at Keyes Lexus.
Mods include SRT Intake, PI T/C, TRD brake upgrade, Level 10 transmission. Tires are Nitto 555 (235/45/17) on the front and Nitto Extreme Drag on the rear (245/45/17). If anyone is thinking about putting a S/C on a GS4, this would be a perfect choice. Pat at Level 10 says this tranny can handle more than 600 hp.
Selling because 2nd baby is on the way and I'm looking to get out of the next two years of large car pmts. I'm live in the West San Fernando Valley and work in Hollywood. Anyone interested can email me at klynch@firstlookmedia.com or call at (323) 337-1040.

I know that you think $22-23k is a bit low for your car, but, that is average wholesale in the blackbook for a 98 GS4. Every dealership uses this book nationwide. I personally think you can get more for your car if you sell it on your own. I just recently purcahsed my GS4 through the dealership I work for. The car is a silver 98' with 41,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. I bought the car for $22,000 dollars and I had to pay a $500.00 used car pack fee. The car was driven by a 72 year old man who traded it in for a GS430. I could easily turn around and sell this car for well over $30k. I think you should consider selling it in the high 20's range. Who know's, maybe you might even get over 30k for it. Anyhow, goodluck with selling the car.

I think in So. Cal, if you stick with $26k, you'll get a bite. Advertise in the LA times, autotrader.com, and recycler.com. That's how I sold my LS quick and got something like $4,200 above what the local Lex dealership was willing to pay in the trade.
Also, I would suggest that you don't emphasize on the high performance goodies that the car has now. Buyers will think that if you have them, you must have driven the car to its limits and yadi yadi da. You know what I mean.

whitels - I'm going to do autotrader & maybe la times and there will be no emphasis on mods. The only reason I listed them here is because people on this board might be interested. Thanks!
