can you do the drive and input trick (up down up down top right) with the 8.1?
with the gen 2/3 yes u still can....this was the last update i had when i had the gen 2/3. im on gen 4 nd we lost it after the 5.1 kit.

its to override the destination while u drive, u actually can input addresses in while u go.....as far as i remember, yes u can still use it with the 8.1
how come this cd only shows all toyota models and no lexus? I was at my dealer today and I just wanted to check what their cd looks like and it only lists all lexus models. Are you sure this will work for gs's?

this wont work for a 98-2000.
your model used a hard drive and not a dvd
just buy a aftermarket nav kit upgrading to a 2001+ unit would be more costly
