I have a standard 05 Grille. But looking for the chrome one that has only the face chromed. I think this is DIY. I think the sportsdesign comes completely chrome, which I don't want.

Well, I think the SD grille is all chrome because it would be easier for the factory to do it that way I think. Probably just dipping it in or something. The DIY, usually has the face of the slats done I think because it's easy to access the front, but not the sides of the slats. When I did my 98-00 grille, I rubbed the hell out of it with paint thinner and there was no way for me to rub the sides of the slats or the 2 corner areas to do a thoroughly nice job. I would imagine the 01-05 would be the same? Unless there is an easier method, where one can actually do the whole thing, then I guess I am not aware of it. I am in LA... so if someone locally has one to trade me... Also, it seems the 01+ has a diferent surface finish to it. Unlike the 98-00(which was a rough sandpaper feel, gray surface chrome was covered), this one has a smooth gray finish... ..
