You can go through place like American Stitches to retrofit your wheel with wood or you can go OEM. The problem with OEM is taht you'll need to switch your airbag too and only the 01 RX300 airbag will fit your 99 GS. You'll need the new airbag because the steering wheel shape has changed and with the change a new airbag and connector. The 01 RX airbag somewhow got caught in the transition. Finding one (other than spending $$$ for new) will be difficult.

Only problem is you need to find a replacement steering wheel when you send in your current wheel. Unless, of course, you won't need to drive your car for a few weeks. The price is awesome from the quality finished product that I've seen, but I just haven't been able to find any loaner/replacement steering wheels for me to do this mod.

This is what they told me for price!! it seems fine the only thing is i dont have any extra wood to send !

Kia,

Thank you for your interest in American Stitches. For your 1998 Lexus GS300, you are looking at $451 for a wood/leather conversion. What I would need for you to do is, send in your steering wheel (unfortunately I do not have that core in stock), and also any wood piece from your car if it currently has any for us to be able to match.

Turn around time is approximately 12 business days, from the time we receive your steering wheel in the door, to completion. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, if you have not had a chance, please visit our website for pictures of steering wheels we have done.

Best Regards,
