Default how to clean navigation screen

Tried to clean the fingerprint smudges off the navi screen today but without much success. I was using a lint free cloth damped with water. Could not find any recommendations in the owners manual on how to do it -- maybe I'm not reading the right section. Anyone knows what is Lexus official recommendation?

I spray a little commercial screen cleaner (like you use on your computer screen) on a soft cloth, spread over the screen, and wipe dry. I wouldn't suggest spraying directly on a touch screen for fear the liquid might get between the touch surface and the screen.

Any LCD screen cleaner pad will do. It comes in small pack with wet towelette inside.

I keep some Klear Screen in my console. This product provide completely safe cleaning while also imparting an anti-dust coating to the screen. They work well on laptops, LCD and Plasma TVs, cellphone, iPods or any other display. A little goes a long way so it is quite economical.

Tip, this stuff works exceptionally well on your gauges. The anti-dust function is really apparent there.

They are also recommended by many major manufacturers.
Klear Screen is used, sold, or recommended by leading manufacturers including Apple, Dell, HP/Compaq, Fujitsu, IBM, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, and more. Klear Screen's Polishing Cloths are used by leading Professionals and Coroporations including CNN, ESPN, and more.

I agree with using microfiber. Try to find a good quality one such as Meguiar's Supreme Shine towels. In fact, I don't use any liquid additive on my navigation screen. I just simply take the microfiber and take a first gentle wipe, fold and wipe again.

Takes the smears, finger oils and dust right off.

thanks for all the replies I went to buy some microfiber cloths in the auto section from walmart, damp it and whoala! the smudges come right off. Then I used another dry microfiber cloth to wipe clean.

As soft as microfiber is, I wouldn't use it dry on the screen. Rinse it thoroughly a couple of times and then wring it out like to are trying to kill it. Then re-wipe the surface and it should come up almost dry. I use them on mirrors in the house and they always come out spotless. Same thing for my auto glass on the interior.

There are a lot of cheap and crappy microfibers towels out there. If you want to test your towels rub them dry across an old CD and if it leaves scratches it is a crappy towel.
